BIOGRAPHY: The Pandemonia Orchestra

The PANDEMONIA ORCHESTRA was founded in 1992 for the purpose of giving concert and educational performances.

The orchestra and these songs exist for the same reasons: to share symphonic "beauty with a beat", and to touch as many lives as possible with fun, uptempo music.

We believe we've achieved these ends, and hope you will agree.

My wife Arlene, who is a constant inspiration, felt strongly that some of the songs, which were originally all instrumentals, should have some vocals. It wasn't until two weeks before the recording sessions that I finally realized how right she was. I wrote the three lyrics on this album very quickly, solving one problem and creating another: how could we find a singer versatile enough to capture the whimsical spirit of these original songs on such short notice? Fortunately, Fred Selden: a good friend and very talented musician who is featured frequently on this album, told us about Tierney Sutton. A lady with excellent vocal abilities, Ms. Sutton was able to give a wonderfully playful, jazzy rendering, even at first sight.

A lot of work goes into making an album, particularly a first one! It is another one of those truisms we all know and love, however, that all the work in the world cannot save the best ideas from poor craftsmanship. How lucky I am, then, to have worked with the talented musicians in this orchestra!

The entire CD was recorded "LIVE" on one very long Sunday at O"Henry Sound Studios in L.A. Everyone in the group jumped into each new tune with unflagging enthusiasm and flawless performance.

I am very grateful for the chance to work with these people, as I am for the chance to touch your life with the music.

Please enjoy.
